Unlock Your Potential: Top AI-Powered Business Ideas for the Modern Entrepreneur
A decade ago, if you had asked me which job would disappear first – an accountant or a graphic designer – I would have confidently said the accountant. My reasoning was simple: any work requiring creativity seemed inherently more secure and increasingly valuable over time. Fast forward to 2023, and the landscape has dramatically shifted with the arrival of artificial intelligence. This isn't just a fleeting trend; I believe AI is set to revolutionize human life as we know it. If you're curious about the general attitude towards AI, how it functions, and my personal perspective as a creative industry professional, you can check out my previous video on the subject.
Perhaps that initial video left you with the impression that AI is merely a fun gimmick, a tool for generating silly jokes or a sympathetic ear for your venting sessions. Today, however, I want to delve much deeper. We're going to explore specific business opportunities you can launch and scale by leveraging powerful AI tools like OpenAI's ChatGPT and others. I'll present these ideas in a spectrum, moving from the easiest to the most challenging to implement. And stick around until the very end, because I'll share a crucial tip that will ensure you truly optimize these tools. Without it, your AI-powered business might just fall flat.
Let's dive in.
1. Master the Art of AI-Powered Copywriting
For me, copywriting is the most straightforward application of AI, particularly with tools like ChatGPT. You can ask it virtually anything, and the AI will provide optimized copywriting recommendations tailored to your specific needs. This capability opens up a wealth of possibilities across various domains.
a. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Content Creation
If you own a website and aspire to see it rank number one on Google, ChatGPT can be your secret weapon. You can prompt it to generate SEO-optimized keywords to boost your site's visibility. Let's try an example together. I'll ask it to "create optimal SEO keywords for my fashion business with products priced under IDR 50,000."
Immediately, it suggests a flood of relevant terms: "affordable fashion products," "cheap clothes," "inexpensive outfits," "budget-friendly skirts," "discounted bags," and many more. It provides a comprehensive list of keywords that could significantly optimize a website selling fashion items under IDR 50,000. What's even more impressive is that it goes beyond just keywords, offering strategic advice like "focus on long-tail keywords for more specific targeting." This level of insight is truly incredible, and if you can effectively implement these optimizations, your business could experience exponential growth.
b. Blog Content Generation
Looking to start a blog and eventually monetize it? ChatGPT can help you identify blog topics and generate content that aligns with your niche. For instance, if I wanted to focus on self-development, I could ask it for "7 blog title ideas for a self-development blog targeting audiences in their 20s." It instantly provides a breakdown, even initially in English, which we can then ask it to translate into Indonesian if needed. This makes content brainstorming incredibly fast and efficient.
c. Video Scripting
Beyond written content, AI excels at video scripting. Imagine asking ChatGPT to "create a YouTube script discussing business ideas related to security." It can deliver a full script, outlining various concepts like virtual assistants, personal online creation, e-commerce chatbots, and more. It details what you can achieve with ChatGPT, making it clear that the opportunities are immense. This means you can launch a copywriting service not just locally, but globally on platforms like Upwork or Fiverr, offering your AI-enhanced writing skills to a worldwide audience.
2. Print-on-Demand T-Shirts with AI-Generated Graphics
Moving on to visual creativity, consider selling t-shirts featuring stunning, AI-generated graphics. Midjourney is an AI application that simplifies this process immensely. The more specific and detailed your instructions, the better the results. For example, if I wanted to create a character of a cat in a swimming pool, I would simply type "slash imagine a cat in a swimming pool" into Midjourney's Discord interface. The AI generates incredible images that I can then place on a t-shirt and sell.
If Midjourney feels a bit too complex, DALL-E offers a similar functionality. You input your desired image, and the AI provides several options. From there, you can directly upload these designs to print-on-demand platforms and promote them across your social media channels. When an order comes in, the platform handles the printing and shipping, allowing you to focus on design and marketing. This business model allows for a truly creative outlet with minimal upfront investment.
3. Becoming an AI-Powered Content Creator (Especially on YouTube)
As I mentioned, you can use ChatGPT for video scripting, but the tools get even more exciting. Have you heard of Pictory.ai? This is essentially like a simplified version of professional video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or CapCut. It's incredibly user-friendly. You can sign up for a free version, which already comes with templates, stock videos, and stock audio. All of this is accessible directly through your web browser, making video creation incredibly easy. A unique feature is its ability to auto-generate subtitles, saving you a tremendous amount of time.
But it gets even crazier. Enter Victory.ai. With Victory.ai, you can paste any script into its editor, and it will automatically generate a corresponding video. For instance, I could copy a script from ChatGPT into Victory.ai, select a template from its library, specify an aspect ratio like 9:16 (perfect for shorts or TikTok), and watch it instantly produce a draft video. You can then easily play it back, generate all the scenes, modify themes, trim clips, and even add voiceovers. The capabilities of Victory.ai are truly mind-blowing. Imagine wanting to discuss a book like "Start with Why." You can ask ChatGPT for a breakdown, then either speak directly to the camera if you're comfortable, or use these AI tools to create a faceless content creator persona, opening up new avenues for content production without being on camera yourself.
4. Launching an AI-Enhanced Agency
For those looking to offer services, AI can significantly streamline presentation creation. Tome.app (or Tume, as it might also be pronounced) is a fantastic tool for this. If you need to create a presentation on, say, "how a brand can optimize its social media presence," simply type in your request, and Tome.app will generate a professional presentation for you instantly. This makes crafting compelling presentations incredibly easy. It provides a detailed outline, covering topics like "creating a social media presence," "engaging with customers," "developing a brand voice," and "optimizing for mobile." This tool empowers individuals and small teams to create high-quality presentations without extensive design skills.
5. The One-Person Business Model: Company of One with AI Avatars
Consider the "Company of One" model, particularly relevant for content creators. If you feel that the CPM (cost per mille) and RPM (revenue per mille) for content in your region are low, you might consider creating a foreign-sounding persona or character to deliver your video content. Imagine speaking into the camera, "Hi, my name is Agus Leo Halim, and welcome to my YouTube channel," and then having an AI avatar deliver your message with a different accent or appearance.
This is where D-ID comes in. You simply log in, and uniquely, they allow you to "choose a presenter" from a selection of avatars that best reflect the video you want to create. What's even more fascinating is the "generate AI presenter" option. I tried it out: I generated an AI avatar, added it to my gallery, selected it, and then generated a video with the script: "Hello, my name is Halim, and today I want to talk about how you can focus on one book." The result was surprisingly good! While it might sound more natural in English, this capability makes it incredibly easy to create English-language content, which often commands higher CPM and RPM rates. You can, of course, use ChatGPT for your video scripts here too.
Expanding on this, there's Perplexity AI. The key difference between Perplexity AI and ChatGPT is that while ChatGPT provides direct answers, Perplexity AI also provides its sources and references. So, if you're researching content, you can see exactly where the information came from, complete with YouTube links and other descriptions. For example, if you ask "Why do we dream?", Perplexity AI will give you a breakdown of the reasons and then cite its sources, such as Verywellmind.com, WebMD.com, and Helpguide.org. This makes your research much more robust and verifiable than simply getting a direct answer from ChatGPT. It's almost like a marriage between Google and ChatGPT, providing both answers and their contextual origins.
Once you have your content, you can then go to Synthesia.ai to find a foreign-looking avatar and then use other AI tools for video editing. This opens up possibilities for consultation businesses as well, similar to the agency idea discussed earlier, but perhaps more abstract, like design services using Midjourney. You can mock up anything – websites, characters, products – with incredible ease in Midjourney by simply using the "slash imagine" prompt followed by your request.
6. Developing Your Own AI-Powered Applications
You're likely aware of the recent trend where many influencers and content creators posted their AI-generated versions of themselves using an app called Lensa AI. What many don't realize is that Lensa AI is essentially an aggregator, combining the results from underlying AI applications like Midjourney. This highlights a significant opportunity: if you can build an application that simplifies how people generally access the multitude of artificial intelligence tools available, people will pay for it. Lensa AI, for example, charged around IDR 150,000 (approximately $10 USD) for its services.
All the tools I've shared in this video are essentially building blocks for AI applications or are AI tools themselves. The key question is: how can we add value for the average person, the general public, by making it easier for them to understand and use AI? That, in my opinion, is the true added value. If you can think of a way to simplify something like Midjourney, that's an application or website you could immediately develop. My DMs are open; feel free to message me if you have a fascinating idea. If you can add value by making these tools more accessible, I'm confident people will embrace your application or website.
These are just seven business ideas for you to contribute to this emerging "robot economy." What's remarkable is how easy most of these are to start, often with little to no capital. Many of the applications I've mentioned offer free trials. This allows you to stress-test your ideas and determine if there's a market demand for the services you're offering. Only once you have paying customers should you consider investing in the professional versions of these tools. So yes, you can truly start these businesses with virtually no initial capital.
The Crucial Tip for AI Success: The Human Touch
Now, will these ideas instantly make you rich and successful? Absolutely not. There are many rumors circulating about AI detection systems being implemented by major platforms like YouTube and Google. The concern is that if they detect your writing or videos are purely AI-generated, your content could be shadow-banned. How true these rumors are is still uncertain, but from my experience using ChatGPT for Instagram posts, things seem to be going well, generating up to 40,000 users.
So, here's the crucial tip for executing all of this successfully: do not just copy and paste. Don't be a lazy student who simply cheats off the AI. You must add your own modifications, a distinct human touch, and leverage your own brain power to present to the general public. You cannot simply copy and paste from an AI because, at its core, AI is just a robot. It doesn't inherently understand effective and proper human communication.
Ultimately, I view the AI trend – be it ChatGPT, Midjourney, Synthesia, or any other tool – much like a calculator. It's becoming increasingly mainstream, and everyone will soon be exposed to it. For some, like a calculator, it's an indispensable tool that helps them reach for the moon. For others, it's just a calculator, something "nice to have" but not essential. The key takeaway is how effectively you can utilize these tools to achieve your goals.
